What a busy start to our last half term we have had! The weather has been so wet, but we have still managed to have lots of fun!
In Reception we have begun our term by exploring life-cycles. We have been finding out about the life-cycle of a frog. We went pond dipping and although we didn’t manage to find any tadpoles or frogs, we did find lots of other creatures which we all found very interesting. This week we are exploring the butterfly life-cycle, we have 5 ‘very hungry caterpillars’ of our own and we have noticed they already have ‘doubled’ in size! We have been learning about doubling this week too! We are also really looking forward to watching The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show at the theatre next week.
In the Nursery the children have been finding out about 2D shapes this week, they have been making pictures using shapes and using the ‘Tap Tap’ and Geoboard resources. It has been lovely getting to know the children who are coming into Reception in September a little better. They all settled in really well on Thursday morning, we had fun holding the snails and enjoyed meeting some of the new children from other nurseries too!

Information for our Reception school trip
Please send your child into school wearing their school uniform and if the weather looks unpredictable a raincoat.
All packed lunches need to be in disposable packaging in a bag labelled with your child’s name.
The coach is fitted with seatbelts – no need for booster or car seats.
We will be back at school before the end of the school day.
We will make sure we take lots of photos for you all to see and these will be posted onto Tapestry!
