Clipboard Paste, Cut, Copy, Format Painter- editing tools

Font AV- adjusts spacing between characters

Paragraph Columns- split selected text into several columns Paragraph Spacing- amount of space inserted each time you press enter

Styles Pre-defined formatting to apply to selected text

Objects Draw Text Box- click then drag to create a text box Picture- from file Table- draw or specify # of columns and rows Shapes- ovals, rectangles, lines, arrows, callouts, etc.

Arrange Align- the edges of multiple selected objects

Editing Find and replace text Select and move objects

Insert Tab

Pages Catalog Pages- insert a new page where you can start a catalog merge

Tables Insert table

Illustrations Picture Placeholder- specify size of picture you anticipate inserting until you find the actual picture you are going to use

Building Blocks Page Parts- insert a design option to create a publication Calendars- insert calendar for current month or the next Borders & Accents- graphical elements used to enhance publication Advertisements- pre-formatted ads

Text Draw Text Box- click then drag to create Business Information- default information to include on all publications Insert File- insert text from a file into the publication Object- insert an embedded object

Links Bookmark- allow you to add hyperlinks to the publication

Header & Footer Insert headers, footers, with or without page numbers

Page Design Tab

Template Change Template- select new template and move to a new publication Options- formatting options for the publication page

Page Setup Size- paper size for current selection

Layout Guides- help align objects in a publication

Pages Make changes to selected pages

Schemes Fonts-

Page Background Background- change background formatting for the current page (colors and patterns) Master Pages- contain elements that appear on multiple pages (similar to a template)

Mailings Tab

Merge data into a publication similar to mail merge in Word

Review Tab

Proofing Check spelling, online search, or find synonyms or antonyms

Language Translate from one language to another

View Tab

Views Normal- view and edit main pages of publication Master Page- view and edit design of master pages

Layout Single Page- displays one page at a time Two-Page Spread- shows two pages on the screen at the same time

Show Boundaries- shows boundaries for shapes, text boxes and pictures Guides- align objects Fields- show which items in the publication are fields Rulers- top and side Page Navigation- displays navigation pane which shows a preview of the page

Scratch Area- shows objects that are outside the page boundaries Graphics Manager- pane used to view and manage images in the publication Baselines- used to align objects to the baselines of text

Zoom Whole Page- entire page fits in the window Page Width- width of the page fills the window

Window Determines how windows are arranged on the screen
