HISD’s Parent Student Connect (PSC) will be available Sept. 28, 2009. The PSConnect Web site offers access to grades and attendance as teachers enter data in their online gradebooks. To register you will need to have the following information: Student ID (HISD) Student date of birth Last 5 digits of student’s Social Security number if on file with HISD. If not on file, use the last 5 digits of the “S-Number” provided to your child by HISD. Please call the school if you do not know this number.

Follow the green Parents and Students section

If a parent has previously registered in “The Source”, they can use the same login and password. However, the forgotten password or username Help button will not work for a prior registrant in “The Source”. This button is a new addition and will benefit those registering in PSC.

Select Parent or Student to continue

Certifying that you have legal custody over the students whose records you seek to view.

Address should be the same as the address of record in Chancery, if parent has moved, they will need to update records with school.

Parents create their usernames, student usernames are provided automatically. Username must be at least 8 characters with a mix of letters and numbers. Number cannot be at the end of your username.

After registering in PSC, if you forget your username or password, you can click receive assistance by clicking on the Help button from the login page.

Write it down – or else you’ll have to use the Help button!

Successful registration, click Continue.

This popup window will appear once you click the button Continue at the end of successful registration. Login with your new username and password.

This is your homepage for Parent Student Connect This is your homepage for Parent Student Connect. You can choose to “Add a Child”, if you register another child the drop down menu will allow you to move between children. From here you can change your email address or change your password. If you select Launch Gradebook, you will be taken to the application associated with the teachers online gradebook. Launch Test Results will provide your child’s TAKS scores. Let’s select Launch Grade Book

Left side dropdown menu to switch between children if parent registered more than one. Toolbar allows navigation to specific data. Click on Assignments

After selecting assignments, you have several options from the dropdown menu. You may choose upcoming, recent or individual class assignments.

Choosing Grades from the toolbar opens a schedule, email links to teachers, a Notes feature that keeps communication with teacher in a single notepad and grades. Selecting a grade will open detailed information about the assignments for that grade. Let’s select the 87 in Algebra I as an example.

Each grade can be selected and assignments, assignment dates, due dates and the grade given is provided.

Only dates that have absent or tardy codes will be listed

Triggers can be set to send out an email or text message if a grade drops below an inserted grade average. An option is also available for Attendance so that any absence or tardy will also send a trigger.

Additional Information Data for pre-k and kindergarten students includes only Attendance, Calendar, Report Card, and Triggers (for attendance only). If you have difficulty registering, be sure that the information you are entering is the exact same data that is on file with your school. If you still have difficulty with registration, call the HISD Helpdesk at 713-892-7378.
