Great Marsden St John's 'Pick and Mix' Homework Hedgehogs – Spring Term 1 This 'Pick and Mix' homework is for the whole half term. Red Boxes need to be completed regularly each week. Yellow Boxes must be done at some point during the half term. Challenge yourself to the Green Box activities. These do not have to be done, but if you want to push yourself, that would be super! Reading Read your book at least 3 times a week. Look at the pictures and talk about what happens. Try to spot the sounds we have been learning together. Go for a walk where you live (with an adult!). What types of transport can you spot? Can you record what you saw? Return by: 16.01.19 The Empty Box! You can do anything you like; a presentation on something that interests you; write about something you have done - the choice is yours... Make a type of vehicle using cut out shapes. Think about which shapes make the best wheels or carriages. Return by: 23.01.19 Practice travelling in different ways. Can you move like a car, train, boat or motorbike? Copy write your first name and surname 10 times! Can you write your full name from memory? A Family Learning Activity Work together to play a turn taking game like dominoes, noughts and crosses or connect four. Spellings Spellings and letter sounds will be sent home weekly and tested on Friday. Try your best to learn them all and practice your handwriting joins. Talk about... Journeys. Have you or your family even been on a long journey? Where did they go? How did they get there? How long did it take? Focus on writing numbers 10-20. You could write them in your book or outside with a stick in some mud or make them out of objects! Create a piece of art work of somewhere you would like to go on a journey to. It can be real or somewhere imaginary. Create a map of your journey to school. Try to label the things you walk past on your way. Return by: 30.01.19 With an adult, make a tasty meal for your tea. Take a picture and stick it in your learning log – write down a list of the ingredients you used. Draw your favourite animal and write a sentence to tell me all about it. Return by: 06.02.19 Number Facts Complete the target in your Maths Homework Book 3 times a week. Please tick and initial the activities your child has completed. Please ask if your child needs a new book.
