1 Great Marsden St John's 'Pick and Mix' Homework
Year 3 - Summer Term 1 This 'Pick and Mix' homework is for the whole half term. Red Boxes need to be completed regularly each week. Yellow Boxes must be done at some point during the half term. Challenge yourself to the green box activities. These do not have to be done, but if you want to push yourself, that would be super! Reading Please try to read your home reader for 10 minutes at least 3 times per week. Ask an adult to sign your reading record. (Maths task) Complete your sheet on angles. Wednesday 1st May The Empty Box! You can do anything you like; a presentation on something that interests you; write about something you have done - the choice is yours... Grammar task Complete the sheet on main and subordinate clauses. Wednesday 8th May Make some observational drawings of new flowers that have started to bloom. Find examples of items which are opaque, transparent and translucent and record these in your book. A Family Learning Activity Prepare a healthy picnic with an adult and take it to a park or public place to enjoy with your family! Spelling/Phonics. These will be given out on a weekly basis on Monday’s. Talk about... How Moses must have felt when he saw the burning bush and was called by God. Geography Complete the activity on world rivers Wednesday 15th May Complete a character profile of your favourite book character for our book corner. Practice throwing a ball and catching it, with both hands, just your right hand and just your left hand. Can you throw a ball in the air and clap 3 times before you catch it? Write a short description of either the spider or the fly from our classical Narrative poem. Wednesday 22nd May Use your art skills to craft your own source of light. This could be a torch, a lamp or a model of the sun. Number Facts Times tables practiced 3x a week, the red math book should be signed after each practice. Children also need to play prodigy for 30 minutes a week. Please tick and initial the activities your child has completed.
