Year 3 – Autumn Term 2 This 'Pick and Mix' homework is for the whole half term. Red Boxes need to be completed regularly each week. Yellow Boxes must be done at some point during the half term. Challenge yourself to the green box activities. These do not have to be done, but if you want to push yourself, that would be super! Reading Please try to read your home reader for 10 minutes at least 3 times per week. Ask an adult to sign your reading record. (Maths task) Make a list of 20 different ways you can make the number 100. Use different calculation methods. Wednesday 15th November + - x ÷ The Empty Box! You can do anything you like; a presentation on something that interests you; write about something you have done - the choice is yours... Complete your grammar task. Wednesday 22nd November Go for a walk with your friends and family to explore Nelson. Has your area developed or changed over the years? Make a list of as many cities in the UK as you can think of. A Family Learning Activity Make a fruit salad with your family. Make sure a parent, elder sibling or adult assists you with any cutting. Take a picture of your fruit salad to stick in your book. Spelling/Phonics. This will be given out on a weekly basis on Monday by your child’s phonics teacher. Talk about... God Think about our learning in RE. How do we know God is with us? Complete your subtraction calculations. Wednesday 29th November Think about Stone Age caves. Use the internet to look at pictures of different Stone Age caves and then use these ideas to design and draw your own cave. Practice throwing a ball and catching it, with both hands, just your right hand and just your left hand. Can you throw a ball in the air and clap 3 times before you catch it? Write a detailed description of the Iron Man. You might want to draw a picture too! Wednesday 6th December Look at a picture of the world map, if you don’t have one use the internet. Can you find the UK on the world map? Number Facts Your child will be given a times table to learn when they get their spellings on a Monday. They need to learn these in and out of order. They may get the same times table until they have learnt it. Please tick and initial the activities your child has completed.
