Updating Formative Checks in CIIPs Board Goals Target Areas Measureable Evaluation Criteria (Summative) Performance Objectives / Strategies Formative Check Point(s) Timeline / Responsible Person(s) Cost / Resources List #’s addressed separated by “, “ Subject, area of focus Summative in nature (using state assessment whenever possible) – specific number/goal must be included. Be sure that indicator directly relates to the performance objective/goal listed. Must have – Objective that will address the area of focus and needs assessment followed by a connecting word such as “by”, “through”, etc and then strategy/strategies to reach that goal/objective. The measureable criteria (how you will measure success), has been moved to the beginning after target areas. The timeline has been combined with the responsible person to make room for the formative check points. You can use any available data to measure progress towards your summative goal and you can adjust the months to meet your needs. In the past we have discouraged benchmarks, lesson plans, walk through as a summative measure of progress. Now you can use those in the formative column to monitor progress.

When the prediction was incorrect, the student scored better than predicted 84% of the time.
