Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) [insert district name] This PowerPoint presentation has been designed for both campus and district use. The notes in italics are instructions for the user. Insert your own campus/district name into the title. [insert district logo above]

2 TAPR Overview The Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) pull together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. Performance is shown disaggregated by student groups, including ethnicity and socioeconomic status. The reports also provide extensive information on school and district staff, programs, and student demographics. The TAPR was previously known as the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) Reports. Those reports were published from 2003–04 to 2011–12. They may be found at the AEIS Archive. Each district’s board of trustees must hold a public hearing to discuss the district’s annual report within 90 days of receiving the PDF TAPR on December 17, 2018 (winter break not included). Within two weeks following the public meeting, each district must widely publish its annual report, including posting it on the district website and other public places. The PDF TAPR comprises the main part of the district’s annual report, and it must be published in the same format as provided by TEA. Districts may promote the online TAPR system as well but the annual report must use the PDF TAPR.

3 New for 2018 The scope and function of this year’s TAPR has expanded. It now takes two forms: an online data system, more comprehensive and dynamic than in previous years, and a scaled back PDF version. Data are added to the online TAPR system as they become available. The PDF version of the TAPR is scaled back to include only major, statutorily-required data points and is designed to allow districts to fulfill their public notification requirements. The PDF version of the TAPR now includes performance level designations (PDL) for each grade and subject area.
