CAMBRIDGE TEACHER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME NOVEMBER-1 ST

TEACHERS INVOLVED IN THE PROGRAMME Mrs.Latha Eswar Prasad Mrs. Ruby Cherian Mrs. Agatha English at Ease! Three teachers from the department of English, Mrs Latha, Mrs Agatha, and Mrs. Ruby attended The Cambridge Teacher Development Programme on the 1 st of November. This programme focused on the benefits of reading activities in the classroom. In addition to this the teachers were introduced to a number of activities that can enhance the vocabulary of the students.

SEMINAR ON DISASTER MANAGEMENT GIVEN BY MR.YOGANANTHAN ON NOVEMBER 9TH

SESSION ON DISASTER MANAGEMENT Eco warrior sets foot at Yuvabharathi! Renowned environmentalist Yoganathan - CNN-IBN's Real Heroes awardee- visited Yuva bharathi on the 9 th of November. He addressed the students of class 9 and 10 on their role towards protecting the environment from pollution and other man-made disasters. The students felt the session was really an eye-opener as it made them learn certain important aspects of disaster management.

Helix Workshop Teachers of the primary wing attended a workshop on Learning Disability conducted by Helix foundation. The workshop addressed certain key issues that affects the children with learning difficulties.

FIELD TRIP TO COONOOR FOR DISASTER MANAGEMENT – 10 TH STD STUDENTS NOVEMBER 10TH

Concern over landslide The students of class 10 went for an educational visit to the landslide prone areas of Coonoor. The visit was planned to give the students a first-hand knowledge of landslides and their aftereffects. Environmentalists from the Ooty district administration took the students to the places which are usually affected by landslides and gave them a detailed account about them.

Yuvabharathians go to Polls! NOVEMBER – 11 th

The students of class VI were seen as busy as bees on the 11 th of November. The reason was they were getting ready for the election. At one end Poll contestants, with their party workers, were campaigning fervently and at the other the election commission was setting the ballot boxes and ballot papers in place. The poll observers were all praise for the election officers for ensuring a free and fair poll. The counting was done in the afternoon and the results were out around 1 PM. The whole exercise primarily meant to give the young ones a feel of what an election is, was conceived and assisted by the teachers of social science.

ALM WORKSHOP CONDUCTED BY APPEAR FOR PRIMARY TEACHERS HELD ON NOVEMBER 12 th

Some of our teachers of the primary wing participated in the workshop on Active Learning Methodology conducted by APPEAR. The workshop threw new light on making teaching more creative from the side of a teacher and more enjoyable from the side of the student.

SAHODAYA ATHLETIC MEET – NEHRU STADIUM NOVEMBER 11 TH & 12 TH

Athletic Meet Budding athletes and sports aspirants from classes 6 to 11 participated in the Sahodoya Athletic Meet at the Nehru Stadium on the 11 th and 12 th November. SAPLING PLANTATION Children set examples Children Days Celebrations had a fabulous beginning with the students of Eco Club planting saplings across the school along the Kanuvai Thudiyalur Road in the presence of popular environmentalist Yoganathan.

MELODY MOMENTS-VOCAL COMPETITION PAPA RT IRT I CIPCIP ANTSANTS The final round of the vocal competitions for groups A B C & D were held on the 14 th of November. The singers held the audience in their sway with their soul-stirring performances.

Finals of the group dance for group C and D were also held on the same day. The audience enjoyed watching the dancers performing on the stage. DANCE COMPETITION

TARUN SANJEEV NATIONAL WINNER – BAGGED 11 LAKH AMAR CHITRA KATHA SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST

Awe-inspiring feat! Tarun Sanjeev of class V D brought great fame to himself, his parents, teachers and all his near and dear ones when he was adjudged the National Winner in the Amar Chitra Katha Scholarship Contest held on14 th of November in which he won a scholarship of rupees 11 lakh. The Management, Principal,teachers and all the students wish he creates many more great records in the years to come!
