Student Quick Start Guide Chromebook 101 Student Quick Start Guide

Chromebook Responsibility Students are completely responsible for the condition of the Chromebook they are using. Chromebooks are to be taken directly to tables or desks for usage. Chromebooks may not leave the classroom No food, gum or beverages anywhere near the Chromebook. Wait for teacher instructions before proceeding with the activity. Do not utilize programs unless specifically designation by teachers. Notify your teacher immediately of any damage/issues with the Chromebook.

Turn it on Your Chromebook is set up with an ‘auto on’ feature. It should turn on when you open the lid If not, press the power button.

Login The Chromebook will connect to the student Wi-Fi network Once connected you will see a login screen. You will use your district username, followed by @mukilteo.wednet.edu to login. Students will use their ID #@mukilteo.wednet.edu. Students must change their passwords on a Desktop computer at school before using Chromebooks! Your password is the same password you use to login to desktop computers in the district.

First time set up When you first login, you will not have shortcuts in your taskbar Sign out, and login again to load them. Sign out by clicking your user icon in the lower right corner.

Mouse Tips One finger click = left click Can tap to click Two fingers together = right click

Logging Off Press power button once = lock screen, password required to login Click account icon and choose sign out to log out of your account Press and hold power button = shut down (logout first!)
