1 Clemson For iOS Devices Email and Wi-Fi Setup
Welcome to the Clemson iOS device setup workshop. This presentation is intended to walk you through connecting your Apple mobile device to the eduroam wireless network on campus as well as helping you set up your Clemson on your device. In order to access the eduroam network you will need to be on campus in a building with eduroam Wi-Fi. We will be walking through these steps on an iPhone with iOS 8 installed. If you are on a different device or operating system, the images may look a little different but you should still be able to follow along and get the same end result.

2 Navigation Bottom Navigation Slides on the Right
As you progress through this tutorial, you may pause, stop, or restart. The controls are at the bottom of the screen. You may also go to a specific slide by clicking on the list of slides on the right side of the screen.

3 Select Wi-Fi Select settings
As we get started go ahead and unlock your device by swiping across the screen and entering your pass code if necessary. Once you’re device is unlocked look for your settings icon and tap on it to select it and open your device settings. Once you have opened settings select Wi-Fi. If you are using iOS 8 it should be the 2nd option from the top of the settings list.

4 Make sure Wi-Fi us turned on
Select “eduroam” Once you are looking at your Wi-Fi settings you should see the switched next to the words “Wi-FI” turn green. If it is not turned green, then tap on the switch to turn on Wi-Fi. Once Wi-Fi is turned on you will see that your device is searching for wireless networks in range and a list of those networks will populate under the “choose a network” heading. Once that list has populated, select the wireless network listed as “eduroam”

5 Next, type in your Clemson password
In “username” field type in your Clemson username followed by Select “Join” in the upper right corner Next, type in your Clemson password Once you have selected the eduroam network, your device will automatically take you to the next screen asking for your username and password. To login to eduroam, type in your Clemson user It is very important in this step of the process that your username is followed NOT g.clemson.edu. After you have typed in your username, type in your password. Again, this is your Clemson password and could be a different password than the one you use to access your through gmail. Once you have successful entered your username and password, select “Join” where it is written in blue in the upper right hand side of your screen.

6 Verify eduroam is your selected Wi-Fi network
Select trust Verify eduroam is your selected Wi-Fi network After you have selected “join”, your device will automatically progress to the next screen. On this screen you will need to select “Trust” in blue letters in the upper right corner of the screen. This will finish the process of connecting to eduroam. After your device is connected to eduroam, it will go back to the Wi-Fi settings screen. Once it does this you should see eduroam with a blue check mark next to it, verifying that your device is connected to the eduroam wi-fi network.

7 Next we will look at how to set up your Clemson student on your Apple mobile device. If you are still viewing your Wi-Fi settings screen, select the blue settings button on the top left corner of your screen. If you are looking at your home screen, select settings.

8 Once you are back to your main settings page on your device, scroll down until you see the “mail, contacts, and calendars” tab. Select “mail, contacts, and calendars” to open the settings page where you can add your Clemson account. Once you are viewing your mail, contacts, and calendars settings, select “add account” under the accounts heading.

9 Once you have selected add account, you will see a page giving you choices of what type of account you would like to set up on your device. For your Clemson student , select Google. This should take you to a screen prompting you to enter your and passwors.

10 Type your username @g.clemson.edu
And your password to access Google Apps for Education Select sign in To sign in to Google enter your address and password. Note that your should be your Clemson It is very important that you or Google will not recognize your address. Once you have typed in your address and password, select the blue “sign in” button under the password field.

11 When prompted on the next screen you will need to select the blue “accept” button in the lower right hand corner of your screen. By doing this you are giving your device permission to connect with your Google account. After selecting accept you will being given the choice of what information you would like to sync from your Google account to your device. By default mail, contacts, calendars, and notes are all enabled. To disable any of these features simply tap on the switch to the right of that category. If the switch is turned green, that feature is enabled, if it is not green then the feature is disable. Know that you can navigate back to your mail, contacts, and calendar settings at any time to update these settings. Once you are finished, select save in the upper right corner to finish the setup process for your Google Student account on your device.

12 After you have saved your information, press the home button under the screen in the center of your device. Once you are looking at your home screen you can open the mail app on your device to view your Clemson student .
