Yelp’s purpose To connect people with great local businesses

What Is Yelp Yelp was founded in 2004 to help people find great local businesses like dentists, hair stylists and mechanics. Yelp had an average of approximately 100 million monthly unique visitors as of January 2013. Yelpers have written over 36 million local reviews. In addition to reviews, you can use Yelp to find events, lists and to talk with other Yelpers. Every business owner (or manager) can setup a free account to post photos and message her customers.

Products And Services Provides online local search capabilities for its visitors. A typical search includes what the user is seeking. The location from which the search is to be performed, entered as a specific address, neighborhood, city/state combination, or zip code. Each business listing result contains a 5-point rating, reviews from other site visitors, and details such as the business address, hours, accessibility, and parking Information can be accessed by web or mobile browsers

How Yelp Makes Money Yelp makes money by selling ads to local businesses - you'll see these clearly labeled "Yelp Ads" around the site.

Who Are Yelpers Anyone can have a yelp account. Your reviews for everything from bars to boutiques, and even your trusted accountant, add to the local experience.
