Capital The capital of France is Paris. Its latitude is 48.856614 and its longitude is 2.352222.

Major Body of Water The Loire River is the longest river in France. It flows north and west for 634 miles to the Atlantic Ocean.

Highest Point Mont Blanc is the highest point in France. Its elevation is 15,777 feet.

Most Popular Sports France has many popular sports. These include rugby, basketball, football (soccer), and more.

A French Festival of Artistry The festival Paris Quartier d’été is a festival that is evidence to France’s liking for joy-filled celebrations and artistry. During the event, people can attend free (or moderately-priced) performances of circus, theatre, dance and concerts that are held near parks, monuments, and indoors at some times.

Most Exported Good & A Famous Company The most exported good in France is mostly machinery, such as computers. A famous company that originated in France in Ubisoft. This company made video games like Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and more.

France and the EU France is the largest country in the EU. It joined in 1957.

A Famous Celebrity Dany Boon is an actor and comedian who is barely known out of France. He was born on June 26, 1966 in Armentières, Nord, France.

A Famous Political Figure Nicolas Sarkozy is a French politician who was France’s president from 2007 to 2012.

World War I in France France was part of the Triple Entente and fought with Britain and Russia in WWI. They were invested quite a lot, since Germany declared war on France. France had 1,357,800 dead, 4,266,000 wounded.

World War II in France France fought with Great Britain in WWII. They weren’t invested as much in this World War as much as they were in the last one. France had 217,600 casualties.

Current Leader The current leader of France is President François Hollande.

System of Government France is currently a republic.

An Important Event In 406 CE, Germans settled in Gaul. Gaul is a region of Europe that covered France, Belgium, and other countries.

An Iconic Landmark The Eiffel Tower is a much-visited tourist attraction in Paris, France.

Population The current population of France is 65,094,022.

Religion The most practiced religion in France is Christianity (63-66%).

Climate The 3 main climate regions of France are oceanic (cool summers, and usually cool, but sometimes cold winters) in the west, continental (warmer summers, and colder, snowy winters than the west) in the east and in Central France, and Mediterranean (cool winters, hot summers, and not a lot of rainfall) in the south.

Languages The official language of France is French, which is spoken by about 96% of their population. Other languages like English, Spanish, etc is spoken by about 4%.

Relationship With the U.S. The US and France have had a good, strong, and diplomatic relationship with the U.S. since 1778 because of the United States' declaration of independence from Great Britain. The French were our allies in the Revolutionary War.
