What is UCAS Progress? It’s the online application system for post 16 learning. You can use it to search for courses at school sixth forms, FE and sixth form colleges, and training providers. Once you’ve found suitable courses you can apply for them through UCAS Progress. Your school will support you with your applications and add a reference. To contents

First time log in – change your password Must be between 6 and 20 characters and contain at least one letter, and either a symbol or a number When students log in for the first time they will be prompted to change their password – unlike LeCAP you won’t be able to view their password. Learner Profile This is where you add all the information about yourself. You only need to complete the Profile once and it will be sent to any provider you apply to (college, sixth form or training provider). Click on the tabs at the top or the red links to go to different Profile sections. Click on Profile in the top menu. You’ll see all sections are incomplete. To contents

Profile Complete You can click on the summary tab at any time to see how you are getting on. When you have four green ticks your Profile is complete. To contents

Provider results tab Here you can see a list of providers based on your search results. These are listed with the closest provider to your location at the top. Draft Application You can now submit the application. It won’t be sent until your teacher has checked it and approved your Profile. Repeat this process for any other providers you wish to apply for. To contents

When can I apply? You can start any time after 8th October. Start by adding favourites and then make sure you go to any college, sixth form or training providers open days - these usually take place in November. Get your applications ready by about Christmas to give your teachers time to check them and approve your Profile before they are sent. Your school will approve your Profile and make sure all your applications are sent off before 15th January. To contents
