Welcome to Reading Literacy Applications (Read 180/System 44) Presented by Lauren Gray Sarah Inman Christoria Jonas Julie Mann

What is Read 180/System 44? Program proven to raise achievement in Reading Vocabulary Writing Speaking Critical Reading Students chosen for this class from SRI testing which shows a reading Lexile of two or more grades below current grade level. http://www.read180.com/familyportal

Blended Model for Instruction

What is Read 180/System 44? Four-pronged approach Whole group Small group modeled and independent reading Reading Counts computer tests on books Books provided with program by Lexile level computer-based learning which includes reading Vocabulary Spelling Written Speaking critical thinking.

Testing dates Cognitive Abilities Test (CoGat) 9/15 Iowa Assessment – 9/16, 9/19-9/20 Milestones – 4/19-4/21 SRI – 8/10, 12/6, 3/6, 5/10

Grading percentages Assessments, projects, tests, end of unit assignments 30%  Classwork – Weekly scores for Reading Zone, Word Zone, Spelling Zone, Success Zone 30% Reading Counts (reading of books at individual Lexile level) 20% Small Group Assignments – individual work 15% Homework 5% Grades may not be weighted the same
