5. HOMEWORK / ASSESSMENTS
Reading/ writing homework will be given and due on the assigned day.
Homework will be posted on Mrs. Stewart’s Teacher page ( This will be moved to a Google site and Remind)
Prior and adequate notice will be given for any assessments. (quizzes/tests)

6. GRADING POLICY
Tests: 40%
Quizzes: 30%
Class work: 20%
Homework: 10%

7. CLASS PROCEDURES
Make sure you have all necessary materials for the class.
Go directly to a seat for attendance
Read the Class Message to prepare for class 7

8. DURING INSTRUCTION Listen to the teacher/speaker with full attention.
No pencil sharpening, talking, moving about the classroom, or whispering.
Ask permission to speak by raising your hand and waiting quietly to be called on. (Subject to change)
After instruction, make sure you understand the concept.
If not, ask questions by mentioning which part you did not understand.

9. WHAT DO I DO NEXT?
Check your work and the directions one more time to see if you missed anything or did something incorrectly.
If the assignment is to be turned in, do so.
If appropriate, read quietly in your seat.

10. WHEN YOU ARE TARDY Enter quietly. Place the excuse on your desk.
Have a seat, follow class routine (i.e. take out your materials, join the class)

11. DISMISSAL
Leave using inside voices, ONLY after you have been given permission to do so. You are dismissed by the teacher, not the bell.
Make sure that you have ALL of YOUR belongings!! If you leave anything behind, it’s fair game...
Clean your work area and take all garbage to the trash can as you exit the room. 11

12. AFTER AN ABSENCE Check the class website
If you have questions about assignments, check with the teacher at an appropriate time.
If you missed a test because of an excused absence, inform the teacher. (Student will need documentation for absence)
You will have one day to make-up work for every day you are absent.

Reading Goal is 30
5 books = 1 star ticket
10 books= 2 star tickets
15 books= 3 star tickets or 5 points towards any TEST grade
20 books= 4 star tickets
25 books= 5 star tickets
30 books= Free Book Choice from Scholastic

We, the students of Literacy in Room 306, pledge to keep accurate records of our reading logs. We pledge to work towards meeting and surpassing our personal reading goals. We pledge to check in and support our reading partners to help them achieve their goals as well.
