1 Welcome to Math Class!

2 FOCUS FOCUS grades are updated weekly Tests can take longer to grade
Assignments and quizzes are posted within a day or two.

3 Flipped Videos, Notes, and Absences
Flipped Videos are posted to my website, under the ‘flipped’ tab. Students use this for review or make-up work. Math projects will be posted under the “Projects” tab. General information for 5th grade will be posted to the website. Absences: If your child is out for anyone reason, please keep us informed. We can always try to have homework ready for them. Homework is due upon return to school.

4 Textbook and Resources

5 Standards & FSA The FSA will be given in the Spring.
We are using the Math Florida Standards, that were adopted in 2014.

6 Grades 50% = Tests/Projects 30% = Quizzes 20% = Assignments
Quizzes include vocabulary, journal checks, and skills assessment. Assignments include classwork and homework (completion - with work shown)

7 Homework Students will be given a worksheet for homework or will be assigned Prodigy Game. Students will always have something written in their planner. Late homework assignments or homework without work shown will have points deducted.

8 Vocabulary There is a vocabulary quiz for each chapter.
Students write these words in their journal. The definitions can be found on my website, under the “vocabulary” tab. Students can study the vocabulary words using quizlet games that I have posted to my website.

9 Class Assessments Test dates are written in your child’s planner and also in the newsletter. Review worksheets will be given before each test and will so be reviewed in class.

10 Projects Projects will be assigned periodically. Thorough instructions will be discussed in class. Rubrics will be attached to the projects.
