Personality…. A combination of a person’s likes/dislikes, feelings, attitudes, hobbies, habits and behaviors,

What shapes your personality?

First things first!!! You must KNOW your personality (recognize you have good and bad traits and EMBRACE those things, but be willing to improve your personality) Once you know, accept and improve your personality, others will do the same Having a better personality means better relationships (which is what this world is about)

Before you can develop a better personality… Before you can develop a better personality….you first have to know who you are!!! How can you show your personality through a collage??? Your project must include the following: -at least 6 personality traits describing YOU -pictures -the required collage space must be COMPLETELY covered (no brown board showing)

What is the difference between Personality traits and character traits? Character traits are objective, constant, and timeless. Character traits include honesty, trust, respect, responsibility, leadership, loyalty and courage. One’s character can be objectively judged. Character is defined as right or wrong. Character, can be taught. And while character traits are universal, each individual has the choice to For instance, a coward can recognize he’s a coward yet still perform an act of bravery and no one will fault him acting out of character. Personality is subjective. Personality includes your sense of humor (or lack of), whether you’re outgoing or shy, friendly or stoic, your interests, passions, and the list goes on. While some people have well-developed personalities, their character sucks and you eventually avoid them even though “they’re a lot of fun.” Taking the historical big-picture long view, personality is neither right nor wrong. Some people will like any particular personality and others won’t

PERSONALITY -things that describe YOU. NOT universal (not everyone in this world can be this thing) Could be positive AND negative things

CHARACTER Is universal (everyone in this world COULD be this thing) It is the positive things other people see in you based on how you treat other people Having more of these traits can overshadow the negative traits in your personality Makes you a better person

What are some examples of good personality traits? Adventurous Optimistic Reliable Conscientious Intelligent Helpful Cultured Keen Humble Dependable Persistent Suave Discreet Capable Imaginative Fair Charming Meticulous Fearless Precise Obedient Observant Confident Trusting Impartial Dutiful Independent Encouraging

What are some negative personality traits? Laziness Sneaky Thoughtless Picky Rude Stingy Dishonesty Quarrelsome Bossy Impulsive Finicky Malicious Self-centered Sarcastic Conceited Arrogant Obnoxious Unfriendly Cowardly Unruly

Mentally Alert…. being aware of your thoughts and feelings, thinking of consequences before you act, being able to reason why something has happened, responding positively to unfortunate situations, understanding your personality and realizing what is needed to improve your personality, embracing your character traits, having a positive self-concept

What positive and negative traits do you have?? What experiences have you been a part of to develop character traits? What could you get involved in to help better your personality (by giving you extra character traits)?
