Huang He River- this river is also known as the Yellow River; this is where they first settled; known for its flooding & provided irrigation for farming; flows from Kunlun Mountains to Yellow Sea 2. Chang Jiang River- This river is also known as the Yangtze River; the longest river in Asia; this river irrigates the fields to grow rice crops; flows through eastern China 3. Gobi Desert- one of the world’s largest deserts that bordered China to the north and northwest; limited Chinese expansion 4. caravan- a group of  people traveling together 5. trade route- a network of roads along which people buying and selling traveled 6. Silk Road- a trade network that stretched across Asia from China to Europe; allowed China to become powerful & rich; interaction with other cultures occurred while traveling/trading [cultural diffusion] 7.
