23 Rivers 3) Xi Jiang (West River) - runs in the southern part of China - empties into the South China Sea - Rivers are a blessing and a curse: they bring food but also bring floods: which kill many East Asians a year

24 Resources - Resources of East Asia are not evenly distributed - China, Mongolia, North Korea have abundant natural resources - Japan, South Korea, Taiwan have very limited resources
