Fourteen Points Even before WWI is over Wilson creates his plan for peace, called 14 points Presents it to Congress Jan 18, 1918

The Plan: 1. No secret treaties among nations 2. Freedom of the Seas 3. Lower Tariffs among nations 4. Reduce guns (arms) 5. Make colonial policies in interest of colony 6-13, boundary changes 14. League of Nations (group of nations that work together to promote international peace)

Paris Peace Conference Paris, December 1918 David Lloyd George (PM of GB) Georges Clemenceau (Fr) Vittorio Orlando (Italy) Woodrow Wilson (US) Jan 1919-Treaty of Versailles Sets up new nations (Poland, Czech, Yugo) and shifts boundaries GB and US colonies made out of Ottoman Empire (Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine) Demiliteraize Germany Alsace-Lorraine back to France Germany pay reparations Germany sign war guilt clause Germany loses colonial holdings GERMANY VERY MAD AND UPSET, CAUSE OF WWII
