Athletic stipends Head Coach/Coordinators Assistant High School Coach-Second Sport Middle School Coordinator Middle School Coach Purpose and Timing of Request: 1. Restructure the athletic stipends to be more competitive with area districts and programs. The increase will support NISD in recruiting and retaining quality coaches and classroom teachers. 2. Compensate for proposed change in assignment to increase academic course load of assistant coaches based upon TASB Secondary Staffing Review. The increase in academic course load will support overall staffing at the high school campuses. Recommending the changes now will aide campuses in drafting master schedules in March. 3. To have the flexibility to pay coaching stipends based upon the number of sports coached. Our current structure does not provide additional funds to coach a second sport. 4. Transition to dual contracts.
