2-1-2 and 3rd Declension Adjectives (masculine-feminine-neuter)

Overview Adjectives do not have to agree with nouns in declension. However, they must agree with the nouns they modify in Gender, Number, and Case. There are two types of adjectives, 2-1-2 and 3rd declension adjectives (2 and 1 terminations).

2-1-2 Adjectives These adjectives can be identified by their nominative endings of us, a, and um. The masculine form of a 2-1-2 adjective declines like the second declension. The feminine form of the adjective declines like the first declension. And the neuter form declines like the 2nd Declension Neuter.

2-1-2 Examples Masculine (2nd declension) Feminine (1st declension) Neuter Singular Nomin/Vocat Magnus Magna Magnum Accusative Magnam Genitive Magni Magnae Dative Magno Ablative Masculine Feminine Neuter Plural Nomin/Vocat Magni Magnae Magna Accusative Magnos Magnas Genitive Magnorum Magnarum Dative Magnis Ablative
