The Library BLOG http://lancashirecare.wordpress.com/ What is the Blog? The blog is accessible 24 hours a day. It saves you time, good current awareness, updated every day. Your first stop for Research and Information needs. You can access the library catalogue, National Library for Health, E-Books, Journals, Reports etc.

What is an Athens? It is a Password that gives you access to the National Library for Health (NLH) It is easy to get you can either: Complete the form in your pack Today Or self register from any NHS pc. Once you have an Athens ID you can use it both at work and home to access the following databases; Medline, Psychinfo, Embase, Cochrane, Proquest full text journals MyI Library E-books. These are the names of the databases you should be using for literature searching. If you are unsure about using any of the above please either ‘drop-in to the library or contact one of the library staff.

Library Services Books – you can borrow up to 6 books for a month, remember you can either ring up, email or bring the books in to renew. Article requests - If you cannot obtain full-text journal articles you can either email or phone to make a request. The library has access to full-text journal articles across the NorthWest and British Library. If in doubt contact the library. We produce a Current Awareness Bulletin – circulated via email every 4 –5 weeks Induction Pack to make you aware of the range of services we provide.
