1 Oxford Health Libraries

2 Session Objectives To highlight the benefits of using the Oxford Health Libraries service. To make you aware of the Library services and resources available to you.

3 Why should I use Oxford Health Libraries?
Evidence Based Practice Improved Patient Care Continuing Professional Development and Research “Caring, Safe and Excellent” ‘Good doctors and health professionals use both individual clinical expertise and the best available external evidence, and neither alone is enough. Without clinical expertise, practice risks becoming tyrannised by evidence, for even excellent external evidence may be inapplicable to or inappropriate for an individual patient. Without current best evidence, practice risks becoming rapidly out of date, to the detriment of patients’. [Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine website]
