What can be gained by working with the program? Get better results Be efficient with the training time See clearly what training aspects that are important for a freeflyer Get a helicopter view of your flying See week points in your flying Choose the right level of your training and competition flying

My thought is that the four different trainingaspects can be thought of as pieces of wood that makes a barrel If one part of wood is too small you can not fill the barrel all the way up to the top The contents inside the barrel is of course success !

How to make a clear structure ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Mindmaps!

Positive things with the mindmap All important aspects of the preparations and training in one picture A living document that can grow Easy to make a zoom over a specific training aspect that you like to work with Easy make more detailed mindmaps, checklists and training excersises

S

Mental Preparations

If you belive in it, do it ! One person says; This is impossible to do ! This person shouldnt disturbe the person who is already doing it !

Use the mindmaps Detailed mindmaps Checklists Detailed training programs Remember the barrel!

Some examples of checklists………..

Baldrick Example of detailed checklist Goal: 2 models ready for Argentina -11 Evaluation: september -10 Short wing span model Not so undercambered airfoil Easy to handle on the line Short distance for acceleration, the launch Quick glide for penetrating the air easy Design that is strong, landing and launches Good colours for easy spotting in the air High launch Wing warps for thermalflying

Concentration, Checklist Example of detailed checklist To use in every competition Think of the breathing Write down positive affirmations and look at them Screen off disturbances Use the goal pictures Follow routines

Nervous, checklist Example of detailed checklist To use in every competition Think of the breathing – calm and deep Think of the muscle tension- tense and relax Smile ! Turn down the tempo Feel safe in the routines

Some examples of trainingprograms………..

Mental training Example of detailed training program Read at least 4 times a week Read loud I will succed in my performances It is a great feeling to know Im always doing my best I always learn from my progress, and I want to make more progress It will be fun and stimulating to do the next training I learn quickly and I always want new challanges I have a positive attitude to my performaces no matter what happens I have big patience, I know I always have a chance to succeed I feel stronger every day i practise It is a lot of fun to learn to performe better day by day Im a WINNER !

Long distance running Example of detailed training program Goal: Run 10 Km under 45 minutes Evaluation: June km running every week, 4 times 10 km each time, 20 km should be intervalls Every training session on the field should end with one lap on the training course Try to catch the model after every dt Go with a friend on a bike tour or ski tour once a week

Set goals Most important areas to improve Clear and possible to evaluate Time for evaluation After the evaluation, set new goals from the mindmaps Remember the barrel!

Help with the work Trainer Mentor Friend Make sure you work with the most important training aspects and on the right level!

Mentoring - the Future To help, and see, someone get better and better in the sport is a great reward, a beautiful thing! In my oppinion Mentoring is a key thing for our sport, freeflight, to survive and become bigger in the future.

Become a Mentor!

The Mentor – Pupil relationship is always rewarding for both parties.

Benefits for the Mentor Some examples See the sport from someone elses view Learning to give precise instructions Learning from feedback from the pupil See new angles of the training Get new energy for the own training Get a training partner New motivation to develop the training program Get involved in interesting discussions

Benefits for the Pupil Some examples Dont need to make simple mistakes Quicker way to the top Quicker to get in the social life of the sport Quicker to get a view over all training aspects Help to see what training aspects that are most important to improve Get ready training programs Get quick feedback from someone that is trusted Get more energy and joy in the training Get a training partner Get involved in interesting discussions Learning for the future, the pupil also becomes a Mentor

Remember……
