Constitution

Purpose Purpose of HRMS Cheerleading Program: Create school spirit Promote athletics Teamwork, responsibility, commitment Positive role models Leaders Purpose

Eligibility Updated Physical Every 395 days Grades Cannot fail more than one core class Eligibility

Attendance Priority: Must take place over other extra-curricular activities Unexcused absences include: Missing/skipping practice Late to practice Leaving practice or game early Appointment (doctor/dental) Clubs All-star cheer, dance, etc. Vacations Excused absences include: Death in family Sick/excused from school

Attendance Continued Communication: Notify coaches before noon day of event if going to be absent School absences: Must be present ½ the day to participate in athletics Other: If cheerleader misses practice before game, may not be put into new stunts, half-time, routine, etc. Must attend rescheduled games or stay late for games with rain delays Must cheer all playoff games

Transportation Transportation to and from away games will be provided. Must be checked out by parent ONLY from away games. No exceptions. Cheerleaders should be picked up as soon as cheerleading event is over.

Uniforms/Poms Property of HRMS Poms kept at school No alterations to uniforms Must be washed before returned (1 week after last game of season) Lost/damaged = expense of cheerleader Worn/used by cheerleaders only Spirit week participation Required clothing for game day/special events

Behavior Extra conditioning: Arriving late/leaving early without prior approval Forgetting parts of uniform (bows, spanks, etc.) Chewing gum/eating @ inappropriate times Jewelry of any kind Cell phones @ inappropriate times Excessive talking to visitors/friends during cheer events Behavior

Behavior Game Suspension Unexcused/unapproved absence Drama Inappropriate language/behavior Disrespect to peers, coaches, staff members Unsportsmanlike conduct IDEAL room referrals Behavior

Behavior Dismissal Academic eligibility Inappropriate behavior through social networking websites Use of tobacco, alcohol, or drugs at any time or place Two or more days in ISS OSS for one or more days Repetitive misconduct 3 game suspensions Behavior Each situation will be handled on an individual basis. Punishment will be at the coach’s discretion. The Athletic Administration and coaches reserve the right to dismiss anyone from the team at any time due to disciplinary problems and any actions they deem detrimental to the team.
