PHYSICAL WELLNESS “All of the things your parents did for/told you to do…” Diet Regular Exercise Dental and vision exams Immunizations Avoidance of tobacco, alcohol, caffeine, drugs, environmental contaminants, risky sexual behavior.

EMOTIONAL WELLNESS Understanding your personal feelings Expressing them appropriately Knowing/accepting your limitations Adjusting to change Coping with stress Enjoying life Being optimistic

SOCIAL WELLNESS Shows concern for others Shows fairness and affection Has respect for others Communicates and interacts well with others Shares ideas Is honest and loyal Has friends with common interests

MENTAL/INTELLECTUAL Promoted by being creative, logical curious, and open-minded Uses common sense Learns from mistakes Questions and evaluates situations Is flexible and creative in problem solving

SPIRITUAL WELLNESS Uses values, ethics, and morals to find meaning, direction, and purpose to life. Believes in a higher authority Observes religious practices

HOLISTIC HEALTH Physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual well-being is met by treating the whole body, mind and spirit.

ALTERNATIVE/COMPLEMENTARY Play therapy is a form of counseling or psychotherapy that uses play to communicate with and help people, especially children, to prevent or resolve psychosocial challenges. This is thought to help them towards better social integration, growth and development, emotional modulation, and trauma resolution.

ALTERNATIVE/COMPLEMENTARY Drum Therapy Drumming Therapy taps into layers of the mind and body that other modalities cannot. Studies have shown that repetitive drumming changes brain wave activity, inducing a state of calm and focused awareness.
