Session Description VCCCD has recently created an interesting solution in the Finance/AR area: We have developed a Web Cashier application in Banner Self-Service that allows our college business offices to post credit card payments directly to the Student account. The application also allows the entry of additional fees, cash, and check payments.

Web-based Cashiering - Purpose Replaces separate credit-card machines, dial-up lines, etc. Direct application to Student account Single vendor for all CC transactions Byproduct – allowed addition of American Express and Discover Performs other Banner functions with the same interface

Separate logon. Not subject to Self-Service timeout

Uses same User ID, PIN as Self-Service

Initial login asks for Student ID

Cashier can review Student’s entire account

Account Review is descending by term

Cashier can print a Schedule/Bill for the term

Cashier can see if a student has a hold

Cashier can release the hold

Cashier can charge Optional Fees (same as Student Web)

Available fees are driven by term, college, rate code

A fee cannot be selected twice. Permit number stored in TBRACCD

Cashier can charge Additional Miscellaneous Fees

Drop-down is based on a view (will use AR security)

Fee amount and document number post to AR

CC can be manually entered or scanned.

can’t be more than balance. Amount is edited – can’t be more than balance.

After payment is made, a receipt can be printed.

Receipt printed for student. File copy can be printed as well.

You can include address for easy mailing

Transactions in TSAAREV are tagged with cashier ID

7.2 version

Term can be changed for same student, or new student entered

This button is for Credit Card refunds.

Will not allow a refund if not a credit balance.

If credit balance, refund amount is restricted.

Refund processed successfully.

Cash or check can also be entered.

Amount is edited against the balance.

Account Review after all transactions.

Conclusions Web Cashier Transactions/services in one place. Same logic as Student SS for optional fees. Saves double-entry. More credit card options.
