Past Perfect Tense Rule: The past perfect tense is formed with had plus the past participle of the verb. Examples: I had eaten. They had driven. He had gone.

Had walked. Why didn’t Jose and Mike walk to school today? They had walked to school Yesterday. Today they rode their bikes.

Past Perfect Tense Rule: The past perfect is used to refer to actions or events that occurred before a particular point in the past. Examples: They had seen a movie the weekend before. She had made eggs the morning before.
