PACADA 2017 Budget Report

PACADA budget PACADA brought in $8871.58 through our dues and retreat (and interest) We spent $7815.06 on events and programs January 2017 Bank Statement: Savings: $4742.65 Checking: $3875.29 December 2017 Bank Statement: Savings: $4744.79 Checking: $4318.97

Campus Affairs Committee had a $400 budget for 2017 They are not asking for any changes to their budget for 2018 Campus Affiars The purpose of the Campus Affairs Committee is to serve the Purdue academic advising community and the Purdue student body by acting as an advocate in any area of the University which impacts the overall student experience, the PACADA membership, and academic advising as a profession.

Communication and Connections Communication and Connections Committee had a $600.00 budget for 2017 They are not asking for any changes to their budget for 2018 The purpose of the Committee is to facilitate communication of relevant information among advisors on the Purdue University campus and to local communities and media as appropriate.  Our mission is to heighten awareness about the importance of academic advising as a profession, centralize relevant information, and facilitate opportunities for interaction between PACADA members and other student-centered professionals on campus.

Membership Committee had a $1,000.00 budget for 2017 They are requesting a budget increase of $150.00, giving them a 2018 budget of $1,150.00 They would like to use the increase to improve the award amounts Membership The purpose of the Membership Committee is to serve the Purdue academic advising community by acting as the gatekeeper of professional membership. This includes promoting, establishing, and maintaining membership in the Association.

Professional Development Professional Development Committee had a $6500.00 budget for 2017 They are requesting a new budget of $4000.00 for 2018 - a $750.00 increase from 2016 Professional Development The purpose of the PACADA Professional Development Committee is to promote the individual and corporate professional growth of the membership for the benefit of the advisors, students, and University as a whole.

Professional Development grants Professional Development Grants is a subgroup within the Professional Development Committee They had a $2,000.00 budget for 2017 They are not asking for any changes to their budget for 2018 To provide PACADA members with financial support to attend professional conferences hosted by one of the following professional organizations: 1. National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) 2. Great Lakes Region 5 (Regional Branch of NACADA) 3. Indiana Academic Advising Network (IAAN) 4. Another nationally recognized higher education student services conference 5. Other professional seminars, webinars, or online trainings that advance professional development in advising

Research Committee had a budget of $100.00 for 2017 They are not asking for any changes to their budget for 2018 research The purpose of the Committee shall be to promote research and assessment of advising at Purdue and of the advising profession as a whole.

Steering Committee had a budget of $1,000.00 for 2017 They are not requesting a change to their budget for 2018 Steering committee The Steering Committee shall have full authority over the affairs of the Association between its meetings, shall represent the Association to the University, shall make recommendations to the Association, shall perform any duties stated in the Bylaws or Standing Rules, and shall act as directed by the Association.
