1 FGFOA Committees Established and evaluated by the FGFOA Board of Directors to utilize talent and resources of the FGFOA membership.

2 FGFOA Committees Committees Purpose
Committee members study and make recommendations to the Board on projects, programs, or FGFOA policy positions that will enhance the value of the organization to its membership. Committee Membership President appoints Committee Chairs who appoint Sub-committee chairs. All chairs and sub-chairs must be current FGFOA active members. Committee members may be Active and Associate members.

3 CGFO Certification Committee
Administers and oversees the Certified Government Finance Officer program. Responsibilities Approve CGFO applications CGFO Exams Review Courses and study materials CGFO Certification renewals Random Audits of current CGFOs

4 Conference Host Committee
Plans and organizes various events and activities for the Annual Conference. Sub-Committees Theme/logo, welcome bags, and speaker gifts Volunteers Golf/Sport Events Association Night Opening General Session Tuesday Night Event Hospitality Suite Presidents’ Reception Transportation

5 Conference Program Committee
Plans and develops the educational program for the Annual Conference and Pre-Conference. Sub-Committees Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Reporting Budget and Management Economics, Pensions, Personnel & Risk Management Treasury Management and Banking Small Governments Pre-Conference

6 Education and Webinar Committee
Plan and arranges webinars by identifying a broad range of relevant topics and scheduling knowledgeable speakers. Responsibilities Provide stimulating educational and training opportunities for government financial professionals Provide a minimum of eight webinars annually

7 Legislative Committee
Provides for a geographically based network to deliver timely information related to proposed and new legislation. Responsibilities Researches topics of interest Evaluates proposed legislation Keeps FGFOA members informed

8 Member and Leadership Development Committee
Actively engages both existing and potential members to enhance the Association. Promotes growth and leadership opportunities to current members through the coaching program. Responsibilities Initiate and promote diverse membership Enhance strength and viability of FGFOA by encouraging membership

9 School of Governmental Finance Committee
Responsible for providing educational opportunities and the enhancement of professional government skills. Responsibilities Develop and coordinate a consecutive four and a half day participative program Determine educational sessions Secure speakers

10 Technical Resources Committee
Serves as a resource for the FGFOA membership on all technical matters. Responsibilities Being alert to changes, problems and innovations in government finance, both nationally and within the state Bringing governmental financial matters to the members' attention Responding to technical inquiries and requests of financial information Providing technical articles on governmental financial matters to the members Preparing draft responses to discussion memorandum, preliminary views and/or exposure drafts issued by the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and other standard or rule-making bodies concerning governmental finance, accounting, and reporting Providing technical assistance to the membership to new and/or changes to State or Federal laws and regulations, or governmental accounting standards Maintaining and updating the Basic Government Resource Manual
