2. 2006 Work Plan Purpose –Identify the goals that are most important to our organization –Recognize areas where we can provide better service, information and training opportunities to our members –Establish a timeline to execute these priorities in order to achieve our goals for this year

3. Membership and Recruitment Identify the universe of potential members in order to create an outreach program for recruiting new members Encourage larger cities to be more involved in GFOAz Develop a new membership packet including an electronic brochure describing the benefits of GFOAz membership

4. Higher Education Connection Promote awareness of GFOAz at the state universities Inform students about careers in government finance Sharing with students the benefits of becoming a student member of GFOAz –opportunities to network with finance professionals

5. GFOAz Recognition Program Identify what other state associations are doing to recognize its members Look at variety of levels of recognitions within our association Explore creating an awards program to recognize member achievements in government finance Develop a process to follow-up with members’ communities with press release Publication of member accomplishments in quarterly Newsletter

6. Enhancing Communication with Members Investigate existing Web-cast and Webinar capabilities in Arizona for quarterly training events Enhance GFOAz Website –Electronic Newsletter –Active Calendar of Events –Online Conference Registration –E-Directory –E-Applications ListServ –Electronic Forum for member inquiries, questions, best practices and other issues

7. GFOAz Scholarship Program Exploring ways to improve scholarship program: –Creating GFOAz to GFOA conference scholarship, helping members attend the national conference for the first time –Increasing the number of scholarships available through the Professional Development Fund –Improving the promotion of the scholarship programs to the membership

8. Quarterly Training Program Develop a one year plan for the quarterly training program Explore the possibility of offering preparatory courses for the CPFO exam Forecasting Forum
