The Great Wall of China

Built during 3 Dynasties… Qin Han Ming

The wall is not a single structure, but many non -connected walls.

How old is the Great Wall? It was built during various times in past 2,200 years. The earliest section – 7th century BC The Newest Section – not completed until 1500 a.d.

How long is the Great Wall? The total length of the Great Wall today is over 4,000 miles! ( That is as long as a trip from NYC to LA !)

Does each part of the great wall look the same? No! The great wall was built during different time periods, from materials found at the building site, using different techniques.

Why was it built? To keep out undesirables from other cultures and countries

Were there other reasons for its construction?

And the Chinese people were happy and thankful for such a wonderful wall, right?
