You wake up. The overseer yells at you, “GET BACK TO WORK BUILDING THE GREAT WALL!!!!!!” You’re a slave building the Great Wall, but you’re so tired you just want to rest. But you can’t or you’ll get buried half alive!!!!! That’s why I don’t want to go back in China from to be a slave. Also you were poor and you barley have any clothing. People died very easily while building The Great Wall. There’s an old Chinese saying it says, “Each stone in the wall stands for a life being lost.”

2 Why the Chinese Built The Great Wall
That’s why the Chinese built The Great Wall The Chinese built The Great Wall to keep out invaders. In China other walls were built to keep out invaders to, but the wall people mostly talk about is the Great Wall or the Ming wall. (The Ming wall and the Great Wall are the same thing.) The Great Wall was so useful to the Chinese because they didn’t have to worry about invaders.

4 Slaves The Chinese worked on the Great Wall for over 1700 years. In turn each emperor who came to power added pieces to the wall to protect their dynasties. But the wall was never solid or totally finished, so the slaves never stopped till they died. The first Emperor Qin wanted a better barricade to protect his people from the Mongolians/intruders. He wanted a wall 30ft long 50ft high. The Emperor Qin used peasants, captured enemies, criminals and anyone else who irritated him.

5 Slaves He put them to work building the Great Wall labors were not paid for their work they were slaves it was slave work. About 3000 people worked on the wall during the Qin dynasty. Rocks fell on people, walls caved in works died of exhaustion and disease labors were only fed enough to stay alive. This project continued long after Qin’s death
