Tickets Basketball Shot(s) Weekly Citizenship Award

Tickets are earned by the student in a number of different ways. Such as… Helping another student Making good decisions Caught following directions Bringing in competed homework

Basketball Shot(s) are earned by the student in a number of different ways. Such as… Trading in ten tickets Exceptional behavior Bringing in completed homework for entire week

A made Basketball Shot: the student earns a prize from the prize box! A missed Basketball Shot: the student earns their choice of job on the Job Board for the following day!

The Weekly Citizenship Award is awarded every Friday to one student who models the following… Demonstrates excellent behavior all week Participates in all class assignments Hands in homework everyday Assists the teacher in class Assists classmates with assignments

Vocabulary Words Each week the students will be sent home with a list of new vocabulary words. Each week there will be a vocabulary comprehension test taking place Friday.

Reading Book Each week the student will be sent home with a list of reading assignments (usually two). Each week the students will be tested on their comprehension of the readings on Thursday.

During the writing sessions the students will be learning the following… Word Choices Sentence Fluency Organization Ideas Writing Traits Conversation

During the math sessions the students will be learning the following… Working with six digit numbers Working with money Measurement

Also, the students will be continuing their development of… Multiplication Division Fractions Decimals

This year in Science the students will be exploring…

The students will be learning about the solar system. Learning the planets Identifying gravity Identifying certain stars

Also, the students will be taking a closer look at the Earth. Describing the layers of the Earth Identifying Earths different surfaces

Finally, the student will be taking a closer look at plant life. Learning about seeds Parts of the plant Photosynthesis

This year the students will be studying the following… Local, State, and Federal Government

Also, the students will be studying… Comparing and contrasting cities, states, and countries Mapping skills

A trip to the Harrisburg Capitol Permission slips will be sent out Book drive starts September 10, 2010 Any books are appreciated School closed October 3, 2010 In service day
