Guilt Love Shame Learned Emotions Examples: -- These are emotions that are not expressed the same in every environment/culture. Examples: Guilt Shame Love

Personality and Self-Esteem Life Skills

The Definition of Personality: A set of behaviors, attitudes, feelings, and ways of thinking that are unique to an individual. Ways your personality form are: Heredity Environment (family, friends, culture)

The Definition of Self-Esteem: Your opinion of yourself; how much you respect and like yourself. Think?? How can your self esteem affect your relationships and how you interact with others?

Benefits of High self-esteem: You have a realistic view of yourself. Closer relationships You accept yourself for who you are.

Risks of Low self-esteem: Little respect for yourself. You judge yourself harshly You have more of a fear for failure. May be at a higher risk for using drugs, dropping out of school, becoming pregnant, or suffer from eating disorders.

Activity!! SELL YOURSELF!!!  Make an ACROSTIC of your name! Get a piece of paper off the table. Use markers, colored pencils, pictures (draw or get from magazines) , to describe how wonderful you are!!! I WANT COLOR AND CREATIVITY! WORTH 50 PTS!!
