THE REFORMATION Began almost simultaneously in Germany and Switzerland. The reformers were all born, baptized and educated in the Roman Catholic Church The reformation goes back to the 1st principles It started with the question: What must a man do to be saved? How shall a sinner be justified before God?

THE REFORMATION Martin Luther The German reformer Ordained as a Catholic priest Troubled by sale of indulgences On Oct. 31st 1517 he nailed his 95 thesis to church door

THE REFORMATION Martin Luther The thesis was copied, printed and spread throughout Germany and Europe in a few weeks Called later to recant, he stood firmly on the scriptures
