The activities clip will need to contain a series of relevant images with textual content. The still images will need to be timed on the screen. The storyboard should be used as an aid to making the Movie sequence and should allow you to see aspects of life in the community. Use the storyboards attached here (P) and here (M/D). Agree this with your test buddy and take notes on what has been discussed. 3 Create and annotate a storyboard for the Activities sequence for your Showcase showing how you would like the sequence to work. Merit Create and annotate a small and large storyboard for the Activities sequence for your portfolio showing how you would like the sequence to work including timings and movements. Distinction Create and annotate a small and large storyboard for the Activities sequence for your portfolio showing how you would like the sequence to work including transitions and sounds.

LO3 – Task 4 – Activities Sequence Consider how a web video clip usually shows. Consider how to make your clip more interesting. Consider the range of activities images to include. Quality and integrity of sequence (M/D) Task 4 (P/M/D) - ‘Splash Out’ would like you to create an movie clip that shows the range of activities at the centre. This movie must contain images and text that describes to the target audience the excitement of the adventure holidays. This is a major part of the project and needs a good degree of focus. 4 Create an activities video clip with a link with sound that presents the adventure holidays park to a target audience. This introduction clip needs to be well designed. Merit and Distinction grades are judged on the quality of the finished video sequences.

LO3 – Task 4 – Activities Sequence Consider of images and appropriateness Sourced and stored from legitimate locations. Images related to activities Quality of stored images (M/D) Consideration of file size and image proportions (M/D) For this you should do the following: Evidence collect the images, sound effects and videos and update your sources table. There should be three or more videos for the sake of the timing. Sounds can be gained from here or you could record them yourself. Go into Movie Maker and evidence creating a sequence using the videos and images. Add and evidence subtitles to each of the images. Add and evidence the sound effects over the images. Add and evidence a title at the beginning and a title at the end. Save and evidence the file in Movie Maker Format just in case. Evidence and export the video as a suitable video file format and in a suitable resolution. Do not worry if the file size is too large, you can reduce it.

LO3 – Task 5 – Try Surfing Animation Guide for production (P) Breakdown of proposed stages (P) Indication of images to be used (P) Realistic animation paths (M/D) Timings and Movements (M/D) Transitions and sounds used (D) In keeping with the theme (D) Task 5 (P, M, D) The action brochure must include a try surfing animation. The animation is intended to entertain the target audience and encourage people to give surfing a try. It should feature a cartoon character learning to surf. The animation must be approximately 25 seconds long and:  feature an original character  use motion tweens  include background music. The user must be able to return to the navigation screen from the animation. Produce and annotate your storyboard to illustrate your ideas for the animation and to explain your design decisions. Use the storyboards attached here (P) and here (M/D). Agree this with your test buddy and take notes on what has been discussed. 5 Create and annotate a storyboard for the try Surfing Animation for your Activities brochure showing how you would like the sequence to work. Merit Create and annotate a large storyboard for the Try Surfing Animation showing how you would like the sequence to work including timings and movements. Distinction Create and annotate a large storyboard for the try Surfing Animation showing how you would like the sequence to work including transitions and sounds.

LO3 – Task 6 – Try Surfing Animation Consider of video being appropriate Sourced from original footage. Images related to local interest. Quality of stored videos (M/D) Consideration of file size and video proportions (M/D) Task 6 (P/M/D) – ‘Splash Out’ would like you to create the animation, this must be original and the animation is intended to entertain the target audience and encourage people to give surfing a try. It should feature a cartoon character learning to surf. The animation must be approximately 25 seconds long and:  feature an original character  use motion tweens  include background music. 6 Create an animation that is approximately 25 seconds long that entertains and encourages young people to give surfing a try. For this you may need to use more than one package to add in the sound effects. This cannot be done in PowerPoint as it cannot be a static image that moves. Click here for an example.

LO3 – Task 6 – Try Surfing Animation For this you should consider the follow steps: Go into Photoshop and create and evidence a surfing character in several different poses. Save each of these as a separate transparent gif file. Go into Flash and start and evidence a new document that is 800 by 600 pixels and set the time for 25 seconds. Create and evidence the background or use a background image that is appropriate (update your assets table in either case). Place and evidence the first of your characters on the screen and use motion tween to move them from one place to another over 5 seconds. In the next frame, change the character for the second one and follow similar steps. Repeat this until you have 25 seconds made. Add in and evidence titles and captions. Add in and evidence sound effects if you can. Save and evidence the Flash file as a flash file just in case. Export and evidence the finished file into an appropriate animation format, .gif, .flv or a video file format.

LO3 – Task 7 – Try Surfing Animation File Format File dimensions Exporting as a video Quality in terms of file format (M/D) Size, reducing down for loading times and (M/D) Resolution in DPI (D) Compatibility with other programs D) Task 7 (P, M, D) - Exporting the completed sequence into a format for later use is essential. You will need two versions, one that you can work on again in case you need to change it and one that will need to go on to the final version of your portfolio work. Acceptable portfolio file formats include .wmv, .avi, .mp4, .mpeg, .mpg, H.264, .swf, and .flv. Each of these has different characteristics. To reduce down potential longer term problems you should save the file in the best format with the best quality, .avi but if this is restricted, save it in one of the other formats listed. 7 Evidence exporting of your Surfing Animation in an appropriate file format. Merit Evidence exporting of your Surfing Animation in an appropriate file format and Explain why you chose that file format in terms of size and quality. Distinction Evidence exporting of your Surfing Animation in an appropriate file format and Explain why you chose that file format including resolution, format and compatibility.
