Oshawa Camera Club Membership Report

Membership Report for 2012 / 2013 Our Wait List exceeded 80 people. The estimated time for joining would have taken over 5 years! Study was undertaken to review attendance to see if anything could be done to improve the situation.

Membership Report for 2012 / 2013 A suggestion was made to increase our membership to 150: –Pros Decrease the Wait List Increase revenue in order to pay for speakers etc. –Cons Better to maintain a small group of people with everyone knowing each other. Could be a logistical nightmare for the Competitions Director to maintain and process additional entrants.

Membership Report for 2012 / 2013 –Outcome Based on the attendance records it was seen that we could handle the additional bodies – Around this time we were looking at about a 60% attendance. Not everyone is submitting to the competitions and the percentile impact would not have an impact to the number of competition submissions. The Executive, therefore, agreed to increase the membership to 125.

Membership Report for 2012 / 2013 The current membership status is as follows: 121 Paid-up Members 2 Life Time Members The Wait List has now crept up to 60

Membership Report for 2012 / 2013 Tracking of membership attendance has continued, and up to our last April 10 th meeting here are some numbers to consider: Average Meeting Attendance 66 Represents 56 % of Membership Attending 25% Members absent 75 to 100 % of the time 15% Members absent 50 to 74% of the time 22% Members absent 25 to 49% of the time 38% Members absent 0 to 24% of the time.

Membership Report for 2012 / 2013 As a result of these numbers the Executive have decided that unless there are special circumstances: –To revoke the Membership to anyone who has not attended a meeting up until December. Membership fees will not be refundable. –Membership renewal invites will not be extended to anyone who has only attended 3 or fewer meetings during the year.

Membership Report for 2012 / 2013 Please wear your name tags at all meetings. Attendance statistics are calculated based on the name tags still on the table at each meeting.

Oshawa Camera Club GTCCC Report

GTCCC 2012/2013 I was pleased to represent OCC at this years GTCCC executive. This year has been an active one for the GTCCC. A new president, Harvey Rogers provided expertise and energy to the council. The Interclub Competition was well attended with an increase of 77% attendance over last year.

GTCCC 2012/2013 Education Day a new GTCCC activity was a success out of the gate. Next year should be even better. I would encourage all members to consider this a must attend for next year. The speakers were excellent and the venue work very well for all presentations. This event is great value for the price. Next year Bob Bourke will represent OCC at the GTCCC.
