Experience Nordic Water WesTech / General Filter Over 5,000 installations worldwide Original inventor of plate settler technology WesTech is exclusive distributor for North America Standard stand-alone units and plate packs WesTech / General Filter Field assembled (too large to ship) stand-alone units are built by WesTech based on General Filter design

Projected Area For projects with footprint constraints, SuperSettlers can increase settling area by up to 8 to 10 times.

Counter Current Flow Proven technology developed by and continuously improved by Engineers at our partner Nordic Water Product AB.

Flow Distribution Our standard designs incorporate both the Lamella style (launder over plates) and the GEWE style (launder on sides of plates) plate packs.

More Applications Municipal Drinking Water Pre-treatment to membrane filtration Most Engineers using membranes are footprint conscious. Package with horizontal or vertical paddle flocculators. Upgrade existing rectangular clarifiers Increase capacity using existing basins, reuse or replace existing sludge removal are flocculation equipment. Spent filter backwash (SFBW) Standard backwash systems including floc tank and mixers.

More Applications Municipal Waste Water Spent filter backwash (SFBW) Primary and Secondary Settling Increase capacity using existing basins, reuse or replace existing sludge removal equipment. Don’t worry, it’s been hundreds of times before. Spent filter backwash (SFBW) Standard backwash systems including floc tank and mixers.

More Applications Industrial Water Treatment Standard Package Systems w/ flash, floc, and settle. Pre-treatment of surface water Spent filter backwash (SFBW) Industrial waste water

Expected Performance Surface Water, Filter Backwash Treatment 90% reduction at 0.12 gpm/sqft without chemicals, feed concentration above 200 mg/l. 95% reduction at 0.33 gpm/sqft with chemicals, feed concentration above 200 mg/l. Primary or Secondary Settling of Wastewater 50% reduction at 0.6 gpm/sqft without chemicals, feed concentration above 180 mg/l. 75% reduction at 0.6 gpm/sqft with chemicals.

Configurations Plate Packs (in concrete basins) Stand-alone Conical hopper bottom Thickener bottom

Discharge Channel Clean Water Outlet Sludge Discharge Feed Zone Plate Packs Discharge Flumes Feed Ports Sludge Scraper Feed

Plate Pack Models “LPS” Style “LP” Style Launders on side Launders on top

Plate Pack Considerations How will plates be supported? The more columns allowed, the better Sludge Removal Zickert Shark Scraper recommended Higher sludge concentration than suction systems No interference with support structure Flocculation Basin Layout Other manufacturers plate and pack dimensions are different

Plate Pack Considerations How to clean plates Other manufacturers use a “top deck” or “top angle” that obstructs the plate opening, making them difficult to clean from above If you can walk on the plate, you probably can’t clean it from the top, requiring the operator to either drain the basin and clean from below, or lift heavy plates. Our plates are fully open and easily cleaned from above, with walking access in launder.

More Options Available in 50, 60, 80, and 100 mm plate spacing. 50 mm spacing recommended for filter backwash and surface water treatment 80 mm minimum recommended for waste water treatment.
