Ibero-American Network of Climate Change Offices (RIOCC) (created in 2004) OBJECTIVES: To guaranty a constant and fluent dialogue among the countries in the region, in order to foster a better understanding of priorities, needs, gaps and experiences To promote the integration of climate change within the national strategies of sustainable development To approach common positions in international forums of climate change To collaborate on impacts and adaptation to climate change To facilitate the development of CDM projects in the region To strength Institutional capacity of the Climate Change Offices To enhance capacity and knowledge building: research, training, information exchange… To promote an effective implementation of the UNFCCC

NWP General Objectives PIACC (2/CP.11) (doc. marco del PIACC) To assist all Parties, in particular developing countries, including the least developed countries and small island developing States, to improve their understanding and assessment of impacts, vulnerability and adaptation Strengthening the development and implementation of adaptation strategies in the region To assist all Parties to make informed decisions on practical adaptation actions and measures to respond to climate change on a sound, scientific, technical and socio-economic basis, taking into account current and future climate change and variability Assisting RIOCC members to assess impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change in the sector, system and geographic area of interest
