Mrs. Markel I LOVE being a professional school counselor because…. …it allows me to empower and inspire strength in my students. Students seek help from people they know and trust; as a school counselor, I hope that I am that person for my students. My students are my first priority. At all times, I serve as an advocate for my students….believing that every person needs to be loved, treated with respect and experience success no matter how small. I believe in motiving my students to take an active role in their life and developing the “whole” student—academically, socially and emotionally.

Communicate, Communicate, Communicate!  Play an active role in your student’s life! Attend Parent Conferences Ask for progress reports Call for referrals/resources! Open door policy
