Agenda for Today Events for the year How to become a PMM Officer Introduce Open PMM Board Positions

Fall Semester Events Service Day – October 6th (Saturday after next) Decorating delivery bags/greeting cards for Meals on Wheels Time and location TBA (probably Simmons, Atherton, or HUB) Homecoming  who’s going to the game? Which time(s) work well for people? Winter Semiformal (tentative sometime November 29-December 1 weekend) Heritage Hall/HUB room Other Socials potentially organized by Social Chair(s)

How to Become a PMM Officer All are invited and welcome to join the board! Step 1: Learn about ALL positions available at the meeting today. Step 2: Fill out a brief form about the position(s) that interest you. Will be sent out later, after this meeting Step 3: Have an informal interview with the current PMM board Step 4: Attend a “training meeting” with all other new board members.

Pi Mu Mu Available Offices and Responsibilities for the 2012-2013 Academic Year

Offices Available for Fall 2012 - Webmaster -Historian - Social Chair -Events/Fundraising chair -Thon Chair -12+ program chair

Webmaster 2 officers = 1st year Prog + 2nd Year Prog Design PMM webpage and update it regularly (as often as needed) Communicate with other officers/board members routinely to see if anything needs to be posted. Basic familiarity/interest in computers and web pages is recommended

Historian 2 or more Be available to take pictures at PMM events This way, there will always be some historian available to cover every event Be available to take pictures at PMM events Publish pictures to PMM board (especially secretary and Webmaster) Represent PMM Honors Society in a dignified, professional manner

Social Chair 2 officers = 1st Year Prog + 2nd Year Prog Coordinate social activities for both years of Progs to do together Doesn’t have to be elaborate. Going to campus events/free activities counts! Both-years Prog dinner counts! Communicate with Webmaster(s) about dates so that information can be posted on the website

Events/Fundraising Chair 1 or 2 officers Become familiar with fundraising policies for a Penn State organization Become familiar with event-holding policies as well Type up a Word Document detailing these policies Keep a schedule for year-wide events as well as a to-do list for what needs to be done for PMM events For this year, organize at least 1 fund-raiser for the spring semester [In future years, there should be a minimum of 1 fund-raiser per semester]

THON Chair Research how PMM can become a THON-involved organization Create a Word Document detailing these requirements and send to Webmaster to publish Develop a timeline for completing necessary tasks and requirements & work with other PMM officers and members to put the plans into action

12+ Program – a review Mentorship program with underprivileged students in Philadelphia Bright students, without the kind of advising many of us had (family, school, upperclassmen) Benefits to us Early connection to Jefferson community Chance to make a big difference in the lives of people who really need it Pi Mu Mu’s Main Philanthropy Participation is strongly encouraged!

12+ Program Chair Stay updated with information regarding the 12+ Program Keep in communication with 12+ Program coordinators at Jefferson Keep PMM members updated on the status of the 12+ Program Eventually, keep a record of all PMM members and their mentees Check in periodically with all PMM members participating in the 12+ Program and as about their progress/experience in the program More details about this position will come soon, once Jefferson students coordinating the program contact us again.
