Fiction F on spine label means Fiction Arranged on shelf by first 3 letters of the author’s last name Work of imaginative narration

Nonfiction Uses the Dewey Decimal System Arranged on shelf first by Dewey # and then the first 3 letters of the author’s last name Work of narration based on facts and reality

Biography B on spine label means Biography Arranged on shelf by the subject’s full last name Work about another person’s life

Reference REF on spine label means Reference Arranged on shelf by the Dewey Decimal # and then by the first 3 letters of the author’s last name Work that is factual and provides good information These items are not able to be checked out of the LMC

Mark Batanian Collection MB on spine label means Mark Batanian Collection Works that pertain to the world of sports (biographies, nonfiction and fiction) Arranged on shelf by either the first 3 letters of the author’s last name (nonfiction), by the subject’s full last name (biography) or by an F and the author’s first three letters of last name (fiction) Special collection to our library as a memorial to a former ESHS student

BEA & Career Education Collections BEA on spine label means the BEA collection Arranged on shelf by Dewey # and first 3 letters of author’s last name Works that pertain to education Used mostly by teachers CE on spine label means the Career Education Collection Arranged on shelf by Dewey # and first 3 letters of author’s last name Works that pertain with careers Used mostly by Mrs. Brown’s classes

Checking Out Books Library Card Needed! Once signed up for card and entered into the computer system, you can check out books from EHS library and other libraries in the county Card scanned and book scanned Receive print out of items and due dates

Basic LMC Rules All books are checked out for a two week period. You may renew if you need it longer, but you must bring the book in to me to renew. Limit of 4 books to be checked out at one time. Return books inside library on book return cart or use the outside book drop. You will have to pay for books or items that are damaged or lost.

Use of LMC Many classes use the LMC for research and projects. Students may use the LMC during study halls and class with the proper pass. Always sign in at circulation desk. Library is off limits when LMS is not in. Signs are posted on doors and circulation desk.
