Updating Your Section’s Website An introduction to Savvy CMS

Logging into Savvy Go to www.asanet.org/login.cfm Enter your username/password.

Logging into Savvy You will only be able to view your section’s site. The rest of the site will be blank to you. Don’t worry. Just proceed to your section’s site.

Creating a Page In the upper-right hand corner of the page, you will see a button called Savvy Tools. Hover over that. Select site. A fly-out page will appear with a link of your section’s name. Click on that.

Creating a Page A flyout page will appear. You will add the new page’s information here: The page title will appear at the very top of the browser. Meta Keywords will help Google find your page. Meta description is another tool for Google to find your page. Click on Create page when done.

Adding content to a blank page This example assumes you have your content in a Word document. Select and copy your content in the Word document. Click on the blue dialog box. Then, click edit. An editor will appear.

Adding Content to a Blank Page If you want to add content to the visual editor. Click on the white editing space and press Control+V.

Adding Content to a Blank Page The editor will take out some styles (such as headings) in your content. Use the editor to style your content.

Creating a Link Highlight the text you want to link. Look for the link chain button. This box should appear.

Creating a Link If linking a URL, type in the URL in the box. If you are linking to a pdf or outside site, remember to choose the target button and new window.

Creating an Email Link To create an email link, highlight your text and choose the link button. In the link type dropdown menu, choose email.

Uploading a document To upload a document, highlight your text and choose the link button. The choose the upload tab. Use the browse button to find & upload your document by clicking on “send it to the server” All documents will be uploaded to the Documents folder on your site.

Uploading a Document To find a document you have already uploaded, click on “Browse Server”. You will be shown your section’s documents directory. Left -click on the document you want & click select

Uploading an image It is important that all your images you upload be 72 dpi. You should not resize your images using Savvy. To upload an image, place your cursor where the image should be and click on the image button.

Uploading a Image Choose Browse Server to choose an imaged that has already been uploaded. You will only be shown images from your section’s images folder

Uploading an Image Right click on the image you want and choose select. Fill in HSPACE & VsSPACE along with alignment to wrap your image around text. Fill in your ALT text for accessibility

Upload a new image Click on the image icon and choose upload. Then choose, browse, send to server. Enter in your image style information: vspace, hspace, alt text, alignment.

Editing a Page (simple changes) Click on the blue box on your page and click edit. An editing menu will appear. This menu is very similar to Word.

Editing a page (simple changes) If you want to make your edits in the source view, hit the source button. You can toggle back and form from the visual to source views.

Editing a page simple changes When you are done, hit save. An orange button will appear where the blue one was. Right-click on the box and hover over action. You will be given several options for saving.

Saving Pages Once you save in the editor, you will see an orange box. This means the page is in preview/draft/unsaved mode. Left-click on the orange box and you will get menu options You can view page history, cancel, publish, schedule or expire a publication
