UNDERSTANDING YOUR GPA GPA=GRADE POINT AVERAGE GPA: is simply the average of your semester grades, starting with your freshman year. We have two semester per year. Your GPA is updates twice a year After Midterm exams After Final exams

How important is my GPA? Your Grade Point Average (GPA) You must have at least a 2.0 unweighted cumulative GPA to graduate Every class you take counts – including HS credits taken in middle school Every D (1 point) or F (0 points) reduces your GPA and hurts your chance for a successful graduation Honors and AP classes count more than regular!

UNDERSTANDING YOUR HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT High school transcript is a document that details a student’s academic achievement in grades 9-12. It keeps your record of all your grades: GPA (Unweighted and Weighted) CLASS RANK (shows where students stand in relation with other members of their class) State graduation requirements State graduation test scores College test scores (PSAT, PERT, ACT and SAT)

Unweighted/Weighted For Graduation For College/Bright Futures Unweighted GPA Weighted GPA Regular classes Honors DE/AP A = 4 A = 5 A = 6 B = 3 B = 4 B = 5 C = 2 C = 3 C = 4 D = 1 D = 2 D = 3 F = 0 For College/Bright Futures For Graduation
