Editing There are different kind of editing in media industry : In my presentation I am going to talk about: Audio mediums. Audio/visual mediums. Visual mediums.

Audio/Visual Medium Audio/Visual medium such as TV uses editing techniques in many products such as: Music videos Trailers Films TV programmes (Soaps, Gameshow, Competitions, Cookery, chatshow) Adverts

Film Trailer example Trailers are edited before a film is released to: Make people aware of the film Defines the genre of the film Gives brief details about the story Gives other information about release dates etc. Tell the public what stars will be in it

Film Trailer Techniques The most attractive scenes are chosen and put together to briefly tell us the story of the film without revealing the end. They are edited together in a short length clip usually 30 seconds – 3minutes. They use transitions to get from one shot to another. They edit in titles or voice over with extra information. Film trailers can be shown on TV adverts, YouTube, social networking or at the cinema.

Audio Medium Audio mediums such as Radio uses editing techniques in many products such as: Chart Show Adverts News & weather Chat show Documentaries

Advert Example Adverts are edited together using audio techniques to: To market products/services Make people aware of campaigns Offer information of where to find or how to buy products Entice people into buying stuff.

Advertising Techniques Adverts use a range of editing techniques and devices such as: Voice over Background music Jingle at the beginning or end or both Stingers Sound Effects Vox Pops – peoples opinion of the product They are usually 10 seconds – 1minute in length

Visual Medium This is used for advertising media products and attract people in order to persuade to buy the products this includes: Posters. Business cards. Newspapers. Magazines.
