Teaser Trailer Idea 1 In order to promote an upcoming film, we will have to produce a teaser trailer. A teaser trailer is often produced for upcoming films, and their purpose is to announce the film and give the audience a look of what the film will be like. It is also intended to grab the audience’s attention and make them want to see the film once it is released. er along with a magazine front cover featuring the film and a promotional poster. Magazine features are common as well, as they are promoting the film to a larger audience and often contain additional information about the film, which fans often appreciate. Also, upcoming films would attract the attention of potential customers of magazines, therefore increasing the readership. Film posters are produced in order to promote a certain product at well known or busy places. Posters are often on buses or on buildings (in the forms of billboards) where a lot of people would see them. This ensures that a large proportion of the intended audience knows about the upcoming films and are willing to see the film when it is released. For the idea I have had for the teaser trailer, please see the short film slide.

Music Video Till We Drop Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! Digipak Idea 2 Music videos are produced in order to promote a song, as well as the album and the performer. It has become a common way of promotion nowadays, as most of the well known songs today are released along with its own music video. Music videos often tell a story as the song progresses, and they can either be related to the lyrics of the song or can be a standalone story. It is also quite common to have the performer in the video performing the song which is usually alongside the aforementioned story. It is very rare that a music video consists of the performance on its own. An idea we have had for the music video of ‘A Sticky Situation’ was a student getting ready and going to school/college, where they become either bored or angry, which makes them leave, meet up with their friends, have a good time and go crazy. Short Film Idea 3 http://www.bbc.co.uk/filmnetwork/films/p00mr8n9 http://www.youtube.com/user/freddiew?feature=results_main Short films are usually made by independent producers and are most of the time low budget and are for non-profit purposes, merely for entertainment. A lot of amateur or upcoming producers try to use the ford of short films in order to try and gain recognition or fame and try to entertain the film industry. With the rise of the internet, a lot of websites have been seeing uploads of short films. The internet has enabled producers to share their work for free and effectively at the same time. While websites like YouTube and Vimeo have seen several regular uploaders of short films, several other websites like BBC Film Network and FILMSshort have seen uploads of more standalone short films. Commercial use of short films are mostly to fill broadcast time in television, or to be included as a bundle in a cinema showcase. Animated shorts are still quite popular, for example those done by Pixar that are screened with their full length feature films (For the Birds for example). While thinking about the initial ideas for my project, I have been thinking of basing the short film off of an urban myth that has become very popular over the last few months. It is based around a character named a Slender man, who is a tall and skinny man dressed in a suit and has no face. He is known to be stalking people – children in most cases – and abducting them once they are in a place he favors, which are woods, foggy places and generally places with low visibility. He is also known to have multiple long arms which he uses to chase and abduct his victims with. As the myth is about a character that repeats their crime, it can be considered a slasher horror film, however it is more oriented towards psychological horror as it focuses on the characters’ fears and beliefs. http://www.bbc.co.uk/filmnetwork/films/p00pf28k http://www.bbc.co.uk/filmnetwork/films/p00n8q93 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJ4Nnr0MXKY

Result I have decided that I will be working on a music video, as I think I have enough knowledge and information available in order to start working on my project with confidence. I am not sure of which band’s music I will be using yet as I have e-mailed a few record companies and I will be using.
