Rivers Rivers are a vital resource for Europe. They provide means for transportation of goods and people, energy, and recreation. 4 important rivers in Europe are the Rhine, the Seine, the Danube, and the Volga.

Rhine River Location: Western Germany; connected to other major rivers by canals. Importance: Important to German manufacturing & industrial cities due to shipping & transportation (pollution)
